All before the age of 25, this Hawaii girl backpacked, trail ran, rock climbed, hitchhiked, mountain biked, and sold pineapple cakes throughout twenty countries. In 2012 she worked on the Media/Sponsorships team of the Patagonian Expedition Race, and has since spent the last few years working in Alaska and San Francisco’s adventure industries. Lia brings tremendous energy and experience to this most critical area!
Hyperion XIII Productions
As much of a challenge as the race was for the competitors, it was equally daunting for the filmmakers behind the documentary as well. The film was produced by Hyperion XIII Productions and was part of the Production Master Class from the University of Cincinnati, with students, alumni, and faculty from that institution braving the Alaskan wilderness alongside the racers themselves. The class worked alongside a group of skilled professionals consisting of creatives, producers, drone operators, survival experts and camera operators. The class focuses on experiential learning in documentary film production. They faced many of the same challenges as the racers and still managed to capture some of the most compelling footage of adventure racing ever seen.
